1. Turn on the E-Reader. To turn on the Kindle, you will find the power button on all the Kindle models. If you are using a kindle keyboard, then the slider button is given for powering on the device.
2. From the Kindle home screen, you can go to any menu with the help of navigations keys given on-screen. There are 5 directional keys given on the virtual keyboard, 4 for directions and 1 for ‘Enter’. In kindle fire models, you can do the same through the touchscreen. To go back to the main screen, you will find Home button on all kindle models except in Kindle fire.
3. When you turn on the Kindle for the first time, you will be asked to join the network. With the help of navigation keys, open the menu and click on ‘Networks’ followed by Wi-Fi networks.
4. Register the Kindle to the Amazon account. For this, you will have to open the menu again with the help of navigation controls. From home, go to settings and ‘Registration’. Enter the Amazon account details there in the field.
